Standing Rules for Onslow County Republican Men’s Club
1. Ask clarifying questions if you don’t understand: Research the material, do your homework prior to our meeting, this isn’t a debate of ideas.
2. Value the strength of diverse input: Members are encouraged to engage each other but have an open mind in listening to other ideas and input.
3. Demonstrate mutual respect, constructive criticism: Engaged from a perspective of curiosity and inquiry about the issues and their perspectives over advocacy for your own position.
4. Attack the Problem not the person: Respectfully challenge the idea, not the person: Keep it honest, and constructive; identify the problem, present your discussion, and propose the solution; discussions are necessary to get the best results.
5. Honor Culture: We speak and act in a way that honors and strengthens Emancipist’s culture, core values, and foundational beliefs in every meeting or discussion.
6. Speak only for yourself: We are committed to speaking for only ourselves, never assume we can speak for or on behalf of others.
7. Value Guests and Members time: Keeping in formal matter of discussions, our meeting time is set for a desired discussion of issues and holding distractions to a minimum; No small children under the age of 12 permitted during a meeting.
8. Have Fun: No member or guest should leave feeling angry or dismissed. Encourage humor and laughter in our discussions, uplifting conversation: growth is our goal.
9. Video or Audio Recording is Prohibited: Out of respect for our members and guests we have decided not to allow any video or audio recording during our meetings. Special events must attain OCRMC President approval.
